Beni aggregates deals from over 40 secondhand platforms into a single shopping experience. The product had strong underlying utility, but the app interface, brand identity, and engagement mechanics were failing to convert that utility into a sticky, modern experience that users wanted to return to. Discoverability was poor, navigation was unintuitive, the brand felt dated, and there were few features to drive repeat use or build a community around the platform's core value proposition.

As lead designer and contractor, I took ownership of the end-to-end redesign: UX, UI, and brand identity. My goal was to create an experience that felt as curated and intentional as the products it surfaced, modern, discoverable, and worth coming back to. I focused on three areas: reimagining navigation and information hierarchy to make browsing feel effortless, developing a brand identity that matched the sophistication of the resale audience, and introducing personalization and social hooks to drive engagement and retention.

Working as a contractor and consultant, I managed my own scope, timeline, and deliverable cadence. I established a structured weekly rhythm with the client for requirements gathering and design reviews, which kept feedback cycles tight and prevented scope drift. I built a robust design system in Figma to accelerate iteration and maintain consistency across the app and extension. Figma Inspect annotations ensured developer handoff was clear and complete, reducing back-and-forth during implementation. I enforced strict quality control across all deliverables, which the client cited as a key reason for the engagement's speed and accuracy.

10,000 new followers gained in December, the month following the UX relaunch — the platform's strongest growth month on record. The redesigned brand identity and app experience positioned Beni for its next phase of growth in the competitive resale market. Including a full application of their brand new brand experience. The design system I delivered now serves as the foundation for ongoing product development, enabling the internal team to extend the experience consistently without starting from scratch.
